Hello and welcome to this bonus episode of the podcast, which is a follow-up to an episode I recorded back in April with Graham Blunt of Plantbase Nursery. This episode is me, chatting to Graham, about new plant legislation that will come into force on Dec 14th. The legislation he mentioned back in the April episode. This legislation potentially affects anybody that resells plants, which includes cut flowers, Christmas tress and bulbs, and it may affect professional gardeners and garden designers too who supply plants to their customers. It will also have an impact on those who buy plants. It’s will probably of less interest to you if you’re based outside the UK.
Before we get to the interview, I’m issuing a disclaimer – I’m not an expert on this matter and although he’s pretty clued up, neither is Graham. If you think you may be affected, as Graham says, please do get in touch with DEFRA or go on their website for full details of the changes, which you may or may not be able to decipher.
